DM&A is accepting resumes for an Interim Hospital Director of Environmental Services.
The Director will ensure that the facility and adjacent grounds are maintained to provide a safe and clean environment in support of the delivery of patient care. The Director of Environment Services will be responsible for financial, employee and regulatory management of the departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Director of Environment Services will provide support and training for hospital and department employees in the areas of floor care equipment and room cleaning procedures and policies.
- Will provide leadership for department employees in achieving departmental and organizational goals using safe, effective, and efficient operational processes.
- Provide support and training for hospital and department employees in the area of equipment needs for the EVS and Linen Departments.
- Oversee or conduct audits to ensure the facility is conforming to all Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and state or federal safety laws.
- Will have active participation in the Environment of Care committee, Emergency Preparedness committee and other committees as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent education.
- Must have EVS experience of at least five years in a managerial position.
- Must have sufficient knowledge and experience in housekeeping to facilitate department employees in evaluation, coordination, and completion of work in accordance with local, state and national codes.
- Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Bilingual ability is preferred with written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to facilitate customers need while adhering to fiscal responsibility.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, and national, local and state requirements for hazardous waste handling and disposal and Joint Commission requirements.
