DM&A is accepting resumes for an Interim Hospital Director of Environmental Services.

The Director will ensure that the facility and adjacent grounds are maintained to provide a safe and clean environment in support of the delivery of patient care. The Director of Environment Services will be responsible for financial, employee and regulatory management of the departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The Director of Environment Services will provide support and training for hospital and department employees in the areas of floor care equipment and room cleaning procedures and policies.
  2. Will provide leadership for department employees in achieving departmental and organizational goals using safe, effective, and efficient operational processes.
  3. Provide support and training for hospital and department employees in the area of equipment needs for the EVS and Linen Departments.
  4. Oversee or conduct audits to ensure the facility is conforming to all Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and state or federal safety laws.
  5. Will have active participation in the Environment of Care committee, Emergency Preparedness committee and other committees as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent education.
  2. Must have EVS experience of at least five years in a managerial position.
  3. Must have sufficient knowledge and experience in housekeeping to facilitate department employees in evaluation, coordination, and completion of work in accordance with local, state and national codes.
  4. Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
  5. Bilingual ability is preferred with written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish.
  6. Ability to facilitate customers need while adhering to fiscal responsibility.
  7. Working knowledge of OSHA, and national, local and state requirements for hazardous waste handling and disposal and Joint Commission requirements.
